On Sunday night of the Show, it all went down... Restaurants Rock—the official, legendary after-party of NRA Show and the International Wine, Spirits & Beer Event (IWSB). As hospitality characters from every part of the industry and the world filed in, drinks and conversation flowed, and 80s cover juggernaut Sixteen Candles began to rock the stage.
Headliner Andrew Zimmern of the Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods sent the night into high gear with a few words on stage, before guests crowded the main room for the Star of the Bar mixology competition, hosted by Zimmern and sponsored by Casamigos Tequila. There to judge were world-class mixologists Tony Abou-Ganim and Dale Degroff along with Bridget Albert from Southern Wine & Spirits.
Bottles spun, jiggers flashed and tins thundered as the contestants battled in front of the live audience. And when the air cleared—Pamela Wiznitzer of Dead Rabbit in New York was crowned the 2014 Star of the Bar to walk away with bragging rights and $5,000. And the party roared on...
